October 3, 1940 - The French Vichy government proposes a "Jewish Law" that excludes Jews from civil service, schools, army, media and other professions. April 6, 1941 - Germany attacks Yugoslavia and Greece. April 17, 1941 - Yugoslavia surrenders. April 27, 1941 - Greece surrenders |

Germany attacks the Soviet Union - "the Blietz Krieg" June 24, 1941 - Vilnius and Kovno fall. July 1, 1941 - Minsk and Riga fall. Septembe 21, 1941 - Kiev falls. October 16, 1941 - Odesa falls. December 11, 1941 - Germany and Italy declare war over the U.S.A. April 29, 1942 - Beginning in Holland, Germany further isolates the Jews in occupied lands by ordering them to wear a Yellow Star of David. July 6, 1942 - Anne Frank and her family go into hiding in Amsterdam to escape Nazi deportations. July 17, 1942 - The beginning of the heroic Stalingrad battle.
