December 11, 1941 - Germany and Italy declare war over the U.S.A. April 29, 1942 - Beginning in Holland, Germany further isolates the Jews in occupied lands by ordering them to wear a Yellow Star of David. July 6, 1942 - Anne Frank and her family go into hiding in Amsterdam to escape Nazi deportations. July 17, 1942 - The beginning of the heroic Stalingrad battle.
